Womens team managed a very solid 8th team overall in the senior race thanks to good runs from the consistent Brooke Mensah 29.52, Hayley Nye 27.04 (a time ranking here in the mid 20s overall individually), and the impressive debutant Megan Farrell in 30.45.
Men's team were 8th too in the senior race at the end of leg 3 - just missing out on a final placing with no 4th leg runner.
Runners were Ben Prior in a solid 23.32, recently back from his summer of holidays, then Harvey Green 21.24 - 11th fastest leg overall of the day and finally the dark horse Keith Willett in 26.10 - he'll be a danger in age group races this year.
Very encouraging too were the junior teams Thurrock had out. Bernie and Andy will have been thrilled with the following results:
