Round 4 of the Essex XC League at Hilly Fields Colchester turned out to be a nicer day weather wise and a nicer day results wise too.
In the Junior races Bernie and Jon were pleased to see their athletes put on a strong showing.
U13 girls were 5th team and U13 boys were 6th team overall.
Finishers were:
U11 boys - Ronnie Jones 37th
U13 girls - Phoebe Thomas 7th, Isla Sandford 15th, Asya Nalcioglu 24th
U13 boys - Charlie Matthews 12th, Liam Tarasevicius 22nd, Luke Whiffin 46th
U15 girls - Frankie Foy 31st
U15 boys - George Riley 23rd
The Senior Women won the match of the division 2 teams and they mathematically confirmed promotion!! Last fixture will be to confirm whether they win the league or not!
The team were lead home by Hayley Nye in 26th place, followed by the consistent Leonie Nalcioglu in 59th. Jody Farrell had a good run in 66th and Vicky Purkiss was final scorer in a solid 111th. The team were backed up by ever present Gloria Bullen in 123rd place.
The senior men had a slightly different look to it (like the women's) with a couple on the injured list but all ran near season's best placings to ensure a 10th place in division 1 finish. They have given themselves a fighting chance of staying in Division 1 which would be an excellent achievement.
Strong performance needed in the final Basildon fixture.
Alec Finch was 33rd, Scott Thrush 54th, Rob Doyle 85th, Scott Rice 112th, Keith Willett 151st, David Beatty 193rd and Bernie Johnson 202nd.
