Derek Horsup

The funeral took place on 20th December 2023 at Upminster Crematorium of a long standing member of Thurrock Harriers. Derek Horsup, who died on 1st December. Derek was a long distance athlete in the era of Mel Batty and David Staines. Derek assisted David in more recent years, using his depth of knowledge and experience to coach our younger talent. The funeral was attended by Derek's family and some old running friends George Phimister, George Hewitt, Chris Ward, Ron Dawson and Ron Batty.
